Cambodia Angkor Air to launch direct flights between Phnom Penh & New Delhi on June 16th

Cambodia's flagship carrier, Cambodia Angkor Air, has recently declared the inauguration of its inaugural non-stop service connecting Phnom Penh with New Delhi..., India, commencing on June 16. The airline will operate this route four times weekly: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

India's diplomatic envoy to Cambodia, Koy Kuong, expressed optimism that the introduction of direct flights coupled with the burgeoning sector of medical tourism in India will lead to a twofold increase in travel between the two nations annually.

Furthermore, he anticipates a rise in Cambodian nationals traveling to India for healthcare services, attributing this to the more affordable medical expenses compared to those in adjacent countries.

Eng Molina, the Chief Executive Officer of Cambodia Angkor Airline, mentioned that the cost for a return journey from New Delhi to Phnom Penh is approximately $275, inclusive of taxes.

Before the Covid crisis, Indian tourism to Cambodia saw approximately 75,000 visitors annually prior to the pandemic, with the figure standing at 45,000 in the year 2021, as noted by the ambassador.
